How an Architect helped a School win $5.3 Million
-in six weeks
In September 2023, Lex Godfrey, Agricultural Educator at Rigby High School, was notified about an Idaho Legislative grant slated for the expansion of career and technical education programs in Idaho. The only problem was that the deadline was October 31st – a mere six weeks away – and nobody had a plan to qualify for the $5.3 million.
Having tried and failed three times previously to obtain the millions in bond funding previously, the School board had no realistic options for expansion
Feeling nervous about wasting time and money trying to pull something so complex together, Lex still went for it. He was referred to Isaiah.
Isaiah took the chance and started:
-Interviewed many stakeholders
-Analyzed the site
-Began recommending solutions.
Lex said about Isaiah, “His ability to incorporate so many people’s needs was astounding. He put together a seamless combination of all these needs into a workable solution. There was one night I knew Isaiah was out of town and yet he sent me some plans to review at 2am. He goes above and beyond in order to accommodate, understand, and deliver.”
On October 30, the grant application was submitted and was awarded to Jefferson County School District shortly thereafter.
“Without Isaiah in that process it would have been impossible. All of his technical expertise was needed, from the design documents to obtaining estimates for construction. I started this with a feeling of nervousness, now I feel accomplished, peaceful and hopeful.”
