We get these questions a lot. Here are our best answers...

On the surface, there often appears to be little difference between a draftsperson and an architect. However, when difficult or complicated situations arise during construction, a draftsperson may not have the tools or expertise to execute a successful conclusion. Years of professional training and experience in complicated situations are what separate draftspeople from architects. That, and a professional license.

Probably… BUT, you need to make sure they comply with local and current building codes at a minimum. If you want them customized, you may be farther ahead to work with us as a design professional who can understand the area, your needs, and the local construction techniques and product availability.

If you want to have a home that fits your needs and lifestyle, then you would be miles ahead to work with a design professional who can communicate those needs clearly and without ambiguity.

That’s great! Where we shine the most is helping individuals and companies find the perfect balance between design and functionality, and then keeping things on track.  It might sound counterintuitive, but projects where Architects are involved have a MUCH higher probability of staying on budget and on time.  If those two things are important to you, it might be worth considering.

One of the first steps in our Discovery Phase is researching, applying for, and keeping track of all necessary codes and standards in your location.  This is paramount, as omitting these details can lead to costly fines, remodels, and delays down road.

Architects undergo specialized training in areas like ventilation, shading, natural light, and orientation to enhance your home’s efficiency. A home designed by an architect can be built to optimize natural ventilation, lighting, and shading, reducing future costs and environmental impacts. Architects can also suggest eco-friendly building materials.
